"Man, I'm a sucker for musical shows," - moi, 2K21
Yesterday I've just made quite a discovery on this particular song (which its notable line becomes the title of this writing). The song comes from a musical anime --yes, an Anime, you're reading it correctly-- called Poupelle of Chimney Town, or in its native language is known as Entotsu Machi no Poupelle. But if you do not fancy watching Japanese Anime and more into Pixar/Disney/western-styled animations, I believe this is worth of your taste. Just give a go and see its trailer on YouTube, then you'll see that it's not like the typical Japanese Anime you probably have known.
Anyway, I'm not gonna ramble into how good the animation is (or the theme song, even though it's very heavenly and super catchy, you should really check it out). Instead, I'll let you know of the story in which this anime is based from.
So, brief intro: the man behind Poupelle of Chimney Town project is Akihiro Nishino. The story tells about a warm, unlikely friendship between a boy named Lubicchi and a creature named Poupelle in Chimney Town. And that is the least that I can tell you since I don't wanna spoil it too much.
Anyway, the good news is, if you're being curious to the plot it is built from, you don't have to rightaway purchasing the book (even though you may be losing a chance to fully dwell into the realm of Chimney Town with its astonishing illustrations and whatnot). There's actually a legal website which allows people from different native languages to read the story. And I have to say, despite (perhaps) the lack number of illustrations there compared to the one in the original book, the experience of reading along with seeing the mesmerizing illustration is just wondrous.
So, here it is, for you who needs an inspirational story for your writing reference, or for you who may be just want to stop by for 5 minutes to read a heartwarming childhood-like story. Give it a go in the link below! And while reading it, I highly recommend you to turn on the Theme Song as well (which titled the same).
